The time is flying by. Soon it will be July. gulp! Today was one of those days where’s it like – wha’ happened? Some really productive conversations, meetings and facebook threads mixed up with some total n00b facepalm mistakes and general cock ups.
I spent a bunch of time laser cutting only to find out that the note “not to scale” applied to multiple items at various scales – some more apparent that others. The upside is that i now REALLY know what needs to be done – but it’s probably another 6 hours of work – unless i can get RhinoNest to work tomorrow.
On Facebook progress was made figuring out a font for the book. Kacie Hultgren – suggested simply extruding the font at 45° or higher – a suggestion Colin Parsons had also made to me 9 months ago – and i had promptly forgotten in the desire to make a fully 3DP font. Twitter was also really useful and i got some good responses from the Type Designer community too – i think the 3DP font is a thing – it has to happen. In the meantime Chris Krueger has been working it up a storm in openSCAD and i eagerly await his results.
@tburtonwood @kaciehultgren Nearly there in OpenSCAD. Minor issues (upside down whoops). All Write.scad fonts work. pic.twitter.com/yp5tucNsYU

Tomorrow the plan is to finish the Prusa i3 build and hopefully have something to show off when folks show up at 2pm for the Friday afternoon demo. See you then!
