I’ll be exhibiting tomorrow at Medium Cool, art book fair, in Chicago at Prairie Production in the West Loop. On display will be my new 3D printed book “Folium.” It features nine 3D scans of bas relief pieces from the Art Institute of Chicago, 3D printed in PLA plastic.
In selecting work for Folium we looked for low relief works that were especially significant or interesting. Folium spans several thousand years of history starting with the Ancient Egyptians and ending with Louis H. Sullivan here in Chicago. I’ll write up a more detailed piece about “Folium” next week but to see it in person come down to Medium Cool and check it out tomorrow.
In addition to premiering “Folium,” Holly and I are selling product samples from Mimesis, our new business. At Medium Cool we’ll have a very limited number of 3D printed prototypes from our “Press Play” collection. Come to Medium Cool and “Make Your Own Museum” with these unique educational pieces.
